Easter @ First

Welcome!

We are so excited that you are considering First Baptist Columbia as your Easter destination. Here are just a few things to know to make your Easter experience a smooth one.

We have Sunday school for all ages and stage of life starting at 9:15 AM. Come a little early to get settled in with a cup of coffee and/or some breakfast snacks as many ministry areas have morning refreshments.

The worship service begins at 10:30 AM. Either head to the Sanctuary after Sunday school or make your way up the large steps off of Hampton Street. There is a handicap ramp near the Hampton Street entrance, as well as handicap parking and entrance in the Washington Street parking lot.

Where Can I Park?

With the recent growth and new construction in downtown Columbia, Sunday morning parking has become a little more challenging.  The good news is that there is still plenty of parking in the lots surrounding the church, but you might not have as many surface level parking options available as usual.

Washington Street Parking Lot

With more than 80 parking spaces, this lot is primarily reserved for handicapped and senior adult parking.

Marion Street Parking Garage

Our shared parking garage with Baptist Hospital on Marion Street has more than 550 parking spaces.  Police officers help with traffic flow at the conclusion of the service making it possible to exit within a matter of just a few minutes.  Some spaces will be marked as reserved for first time visitors in the coming weeks.

Parking Meters

More than 90 parking meters surround the church property on all four blocks and are free on Sundays.  Some of the spaces in front of the handicapped access doors are reserved on Sundays for handicapped vehicles.

Palmetto Citizens Lot

There are more than 40 parking spaces at Palmetto Citizens still available.  But cars parked in the ATM lane will be towed.
