FBC 127

about

Every child deserves a healthy, safe and loving family

FBC 1:27 is the Orphan Care ministry of First Baptist Church, named for James 1:27, which calls us to care for vulnerable children in their time of need.

The vision of FBC 1:27 is to educate the church on our current crisis in the Columbia area, equip our church members who will be serving as foster and adoptive families with resources they need to be successful and embrace families who are serving on the front lines as they love and nurture these vulnerable children.

Foster Care & Adoption Awareness

Psalm 68:6 tells us that God sets the lonely in families; James 1:27 commands followers of Christ to CARE for orphans and widows in their affliction. This affliction is loneliness, lack of family relationship and a place to call home. More than 650 children in the Columbia SC area are in foster care and need a family. Care Communities

Parents who foster or adopt need to know they’ll be well-supported when a child arrives in their home. Children in foster care, as well as adopted children, have unique needs and require intentional focus from their new parents. Supporting these families in practical, hands-on ways provides a healthier context for a child’s transition into their new home. Care Communities provide a strong support system for foster and adoptive families and are critical to the FBC:127 ministry.
